The other day, on this forum a question was asked: “…is EA [supposed] to be an custodian to the enterprise strategy … ?” And indeed EA method, rigour and discipline usually comes to the rescue. Especially when board is in that sensitive incubation stage of the enterprise. More than once I used tailored form of Enterprise Architecture Methodology ADM to “bring the order into the chaos” ;o) Was I EA in that role? Was the output EA? Probably not, because the output of enterprise incubation phase is a Strategy.
Strategy is born out of the ideas of CxO’s. (In that respect) EA is just a “midwife” to the strategy, not the “custodian”.
