Many good people use that kind-of-a C++. The whole gaming industry uses that kind of C++. And I think I completely understand that. I myself am advocating, for years, using the core C++ without anything from the std::
whatsoever. And yes I have written a lot of C++ code “in a C way”.
But still, I value standard C the most. Why exactly? I am not exactly sure.

Lex Friedman: “C++ expects you to be an adult”; many would disagree but if he said anything clever that is it.
